For a couple of hours, Abilene students participated in the Here Everything is Better (HEB) Christmas Feast of Giving on Dec. 7.

Six students from the PHS Ensemble and thousands of people showed up for the entertainment and food.

During the event students set-up a table for face-painting and had many children gathered round, waiting to have their faces painted.

“We sang three different times at various locations at the civic center. After the face-painting and singing were concluded, we then had a meal of ham, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies and apple pie,” said Deborah Leeson, a music and video technology teacher at PHS Abilene.

With the help of the students and the community, HEB was able to reach 7,550 recipients through the plates served at the event and through their Meals on Wheels program.
