PHS Austin students volunteer during Capitol 10K run
Premier HS of Austin students volunteered their time and energy during the Statesman Austin Capitol 10K run held Sunday, March 27.
Ms. Kaitlan Harrigan helped organized the volunteer opportunity and was able to get 40 students to sign up.
“This is a record breaking number of group volunteers for the Austin Cap10K,” said Elizabeth D. Camarena, principal at Premier High School of Austin.
Students met at their campus at 6 a.m. and departed to the race soon after.

“PHS students were stationed at the end of the race and handed out water and healthy snacks to the exhausted runners. The founders and organizers were pleased with our efforts and have invited us to help again next year,” Camarena said.
The Statesman Capitol 10K is the largest race in Texas and is the fifth largest in the nation according to its website.
