Premier High School of Tyler is a charter school accredited by TEA that provides an individualized curriculum for all students. We are an open-enrollment free public charter campus serving grades 9th-12th. Because of the individualized structure of our curriculum, students have the flexibility to be able to complete coursework that they need in order to earn credits, recover credits, and graduate early. Mastery of coursework is the key to the individual student’s success.
On our campus, we expect and set high academic standards. Our goal is to prepare all students to master the TAKS (or End-of-Course Exams) test. We offer TAKS preparation classes in the areas of ELA, Math, and Science. Tutorial classes are also provided on a daily basis for all students needing extra assistance. Mandatory tutorials are held for students not mastering a specific percentage on the Benchmark Test, Stanford Test, and/or TAKS Test (E.O.C. tests). We also provide Saturday tutorials.
We have a non-traditional school day: the classes begin at 8 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. for most students. The extended day begins at 2:30 p.m. for tutorials.
The future of the Tyler campus is to transition all students into post-secondary education including universities, colleges, and trade schools. Part of the transition process will include dual-college enrollment while in high school. Students may take advantage of participating in dual-enrollment classes, earning both high school and college credit concurrently.
