CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION

A unique aspect of Premier High School is our Career and Technical Education (CTE) options where students receive job training, have opportunities to participate in paid or unpaid internships, receive industry-recognized certifications, and begin a meaningful career after high school.

WHY CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION (CTE)?

At Premier High School, you can begin training for your career while earning a diploma. CTE can give you the skills and training you need to further your education and pursue a meaningful career in high-demand professions.

HIGH-PAYING TRADE JOBS ARE IN DEMAND

Employer demand for qualified tradespeople in the manufacturing, construction, and electrical industries is at an all-time high and this trend is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. As existing employees age out of skilled trade professions and the United States begins to repair a crumbling infrastructure, high-paying career opportunities for candidates with industry-recognized, skills-based certifications will be plentiful. In fact, many economists suggest that the rapidly rising costs associated with attending a four-year university and the opportunities that exist for high-paying careers in trade professions could make a career pathway in a skilled trade more lucrative.

CTE COURSES OF STUDY

Premier High School’s CTE programs give high school students an opportunity to earn a diploma, earn college credit, and learn career transferable skills. Students learn career skills in the classroom, through internships, job shadowing programs, on-the-job training, and industry certification opportunities. These programs provide a wide range of learning experiences spanning many different career tracks, from skilled trades such as Electrical Technician (TRIO), Roofing Apprentice, Certified Forklift Operator, and Certified Welder (AWS Welding 1 Certification) to fields as diverse as Culinary Arts, Health Science (Certified Nurse’s Assistant “CNA” Certification, Patient Care Technician “PCT” Certification, and Medical Billing & Coding Certification), Human Services, Law & Public Safety, Information Technology, and many more! The typical salary for the programs we offer ranges between $20-$40 per hour.
